I love back lighting...
I just wanted to post this. I do love the look of back lighting, it's so fun to play with when the sun is shining brightly and it's hard to take any other photos in the full sun!

How did you get Abby properly exposed? Fill flash? Photoshop? Some technique I don't know?
No, I didn't use fill flash, I just spot metered on her face. Try using spot metering rather than evaluative.
